*Project Summary & Review - a 'HOW TO' Guide
Below is list of points to consider when reflecting on your work. It is important to provide as much detail as possible and use examples to support your statements:-
*Does the end product match your original intentions? You should up-load your original brainstorm, sketches, original images, influences to demonstrate the start of your visualisations.
My idea for the style of my blog was a fun, humorous retro 1950's look, this I have achieved. I was inspired by a website which had humours 1950's style adverts ( www.fatter-keine.dk/the50s.htm). My end product mainly matches my original intentions although I was hoping the background would work out better (I wanted the text to show up better against it, and for the whole page to have a background picture.
*Is the end product appropriate for your intended audience?Compare to original ideas, did you change your mind? were you influenced by something new or someone else? Think about who the work is for i.e. Apple iPhone = the client - what type of people use this, age, gender, ethnicity etc. = your audience.
I intended my blog to be for Shipley College students. I think my end product matchesthis audience. My end product came out more or less just as I planned.
*Discuss the technical aspects of your work and highlight the strengths / areas to develop
Demonstrate your knowledge of the program [P.Shop/Flash/S.Mx] you used & include 'subject terminology' - did you use online tutorials? download fonts/brushes/textures - if so, say how you did this & why, what effect did this have on your work etc. What equipment did you use, d.camera, scanner, pencils, pastels etc.
I used www.blogger.com this is a free blog publishing tool from Google that allows you to create the blog. Blogger makes it simple to post text, photos and video. The pictures I used in the blog (which were originally from the Internet and college power points) came from my files which I uploaded onto my blog, I put some of them in a picture gallery on my blog. I created a MindMeister (This is a online mind map and brainstorming tool, enabling me to share my ideas and thoughts about my blog). I uploaded the desktop project from my files then edited it on Photoshop. One of my gadgets is a fish feeding game I added this for entertainment. My strengths were thinking of ideas and themes for my blog and my meticulous research, I was good at this as I am very creative and imaginative and know what I want. I need to improve my knowledge of blogs/blogger.com as I still don't know much about using blogs and I and found it difficult to use the blogging tool. With more education and experience my blog could be even better. I also struggled using Photoshop as I find it complicating and fiddly to use. I need more eduction and experience with Photoshop.
Discuss the content / style of your work - ideally this should relate to your research
Did you encounter any problems when creating the product? If so how were they resolved? What have you learnt from this experience? What skills have been developed throughout this process?Did you meet the deadline?Did you have any problems with time management?
I had a few problems when creating my blog these were, the background didn't work quite how I wanted as instead of one big background picture the background consisted of multiple squares of the the picture, I was unable to resolve this but accepted it in the end. Another problem I had was that the text didn't show up well against the background. I corrected this by changing the colour of some of the text and filing in parts of the background with a blank space of colour. I have learnt more about blogs and what they entail, www.blogger.com and I have also learnt a bit more about Photoshop.Finally...*If you had the opportunity to make this product again would you do anything different? And are you happy with the overall product? What did others say about your work [peers]? Their comments can be stored within your BLOG!
If I knew how to do so I would add more features and content to my blog, to make make it more complete, interesting and interactive, as my difficulties with creating the blog limited how much I could do with it. Overall I am happy with what I was able to create. My peers said they found my blog's background funny and gave them an insight into my interests. They also found the fish feeding game entertaining and relaxing.
